J. Bailey & Sons Ltd is a family-run building, property maintenance and servicing company based in Shepton Mallet, Somerset.
Established in 1952, we have built our reputation on trust, reliability and doing the job properly. We work across social and public, residential and commercial sectors, helping clients with everything from reactive repairs and property management through to refurbishment, upgrades and wider development work.

Our History
J. Bailey & Sons began in 1952, when the business was founded by the Bailey family as a decorating company working for a local town council.
Over time, the company grew into wider building and maintenance work, taking on social housing contracts and becoming a trusted contractor for council properties and related public buildings. That early experience laid the foundations for the business as it stands today: practical, dependable and built around long-term relationships.
The company went on to carry out maintenance work across large housing stocks in Somerset, supporting thousands of properties over many years. In 2005, school work became a key part of the business, and that remains an important area of expertise today. Alongside this, J. Bailey & Sons has also supported housing-related contracts, MOD-linked property work, disabled adaptations and private residential projects.
While the work has evolved over the years, the values behind the business have stayed the same. J. Bailey & Sons has always been built around family, trust and reputation. The business was passed from one generation to the next, and today it continues under family leadership with the same practical approach and commitment to quality workmanship.
